Federal Impact Aid Survey 2020
This year KMS will be participating in the Federal Impact Aid (FIA) Online Survey Pilot. Parents will need to login to the Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal to access and complete the survey.
The Federal Impact Aid Program Survey is designed to assist local school districts who have lost revenue due to federal properties exemption from local property taxes. Financial assistance is determined by calculating the concentration of students who reside on military bases, low-rent housing properties, Indian lands, and other federal properties, have parents in the uniformed services, or have parents employed on eligible federal properties. In Hawai‘i, Federal Impact Aid helps offset costs for school materials and resources, substitute teachers, student transportation, school utilities such as electricity, and other services at schools statewide. All students and schools benefit from Impact Aid.
The survey opens on October 14 and closes on December 4. Parents shall answer the questions based on their situation as of October 14, 2020. If parents need login information to access their IC Parent Portal account, they are to contact our Portal Managers, Wallace Hamada at 313-4822 or Martin Lichter at 313-4821.
If the FIA Survey is not completed electronically, a hard copy survey will be mailed home in mid-December. Families will need to mail in or drop off the survey at Kea'au Middle School upon completion.
Contact Randi Saplan, School Wide Coordinator, for any questions.
